FWPS Departments & Programs

AmeriCorps - Find out how you can volunteer to help our schools through programs like Americorps and the Reading Corps.

Athletic Handbook - Information relating to athletics rules, eligibility, and resources.

Business Services - Includes accounts payable/receivable, payroll, risk management, insurance, and facilities usage.

Choice Enrollment - The district's program for allowing students to attend schools outside their attendance area.

Community Relations - Learn more about the Community Relations Department, located in the Commons at Federal Way.

Employment and Transition Program - designed to assist students in with developmental disabilities toward the most independent lifestyle possible.

English Language Learners - assisting students who do not know English, or who need to improve their English in order to understand their school work.

Equity & Achievement - Program working to eliminate disparities in African American, Hispanic, and Native American students’achievement.

Family Partnership Office - Serving as a support service for families interested in supporting effective collaboration between parents and district staff so that all students can achieve.

G.A.T.E Program - The district's Gifted and Talented Education program.

Head Start / ECEAP - Family development programs that provide many FREE services to eligible children and their families

Health Services - Information on immunization requirements and other student health issues.

Human Resources - Current job listings, hiring practices, and information for getting a job application sent to you.

Information Technology Services - Implementing and supporting technology within Federal Way Public Schools.

Nutrition Services - Providing meals for our schools.

Special Education - Information about the district's special education programs, including the staff handbook.

Student Support Services - Student Support Services manages a wide variety of the district's programs such as special education, Title I/LAP, G.A.T.E, ESL, and more.

Title I / LAP - The object of both programs is to accelerate the achievement of students performing below grade level by providing supplemental academic support. 

Traffic Safety - Offering traffic safety courses for students across the district.

Transportation - Responsible for student bus service and maintaining district vehicles.
