Public Academy Celebrates “10 Years of Excellence”

On Saturday, December 13, from 1 to 4 p.m., Federal Way Public Academy (FWPA) will hold an open house to celebrate the school’s tenth year of serving academically focused students in Federal Way. The program, featuring the school’s founding principal, Dr. Ray Griffin, will begin at 2 p.m.  FWPA staff members are looking forward to seeing former students, parents and others who have been integral to the success of FWPA. Federal Way Public Schools is co-sponsoring a student leadership forum in Federal Way in cooperation with the Latino/a Educational Achievement Project, Highline Community College, and the City of Federal Way. Twenty-six Decatur High School Students and Grads Earn AP Scholar Awards

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program® (AP®) announced last week that 26 Decatur High School Students and Grads have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams. Peace Poster Winner Is Manga Art Master

On Wednesday, Nov. 12, 18 students in JoAnn Hawkins' Sacajawea art classroom gathered to hear the local results of the Lion’s Club Peace Poster contest.  The international contest, whose theme this year was “Peace Begins with Me”, targets middle school aged students. Sacajawea has for the past two years provided the vast majority of entries thanks to Ms. Hawkins’ work. Read more »
